After making White Chocolate Lemon Truffles, we just knew we had to make an orange creamsicle truffle! They were so fun and easy to make and pack a big flavor punch–any creamsicle lover will be a huge fan of these candies.

The Ingredients

Here’s what you’ll need to make Easy Orange Creamsicle Truffles (the exact measurements and full recipe instructions are below in the printable recipe card):

  • White chocolate chips
  • Orange flavor extract
  • Orange food coloring – I did not have any on hand, so I made my own with 1 part red and 2 parts yellow.
  • Butter
  • Heavy cream
  • Powdered sugar

How to Make Orange Creamsicle Truffles

Begin by pouring the white chocolate chips along with the orange extract and food coloring into a medium heat-safe bowl. Set this aside while you move on to the next step.

In a medium saucepan, heat the butter over low heat until melted. Add the heavy cream and in crease the heat to medium. Whisk the butter and cream together and cook just until it begins to simmer. Do not let it simmer for more than a few seconds. Immediately pour the hot cream and butter over the white chocolate chips.

Begin whisking right away until all of the white chocolate is melted and smooth.

Refrigerate the orange white chocolate ganache until sold, which should take about 30 minutes. Scoop the dough into small balls and roll between your hands until smooth.

Roll and truffle in powdered sugar and place on a small cookie sheet.

Chill the truffles in the refrigerator for about 1 hour until firm. Serve immediately.

Variations

How to Store the Truffles

Keep the truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator. The truffles will stay fresh for up to 5 days. They will be very firm right from the refrigerator and soften at room temperature.

Easy Orange Creamsicle Truffles

These Easy Orange Creamsicle Truffles are melt-in-your-mouth good! Instructions

  • Pour the white chocolate chips into a medium, heat-safe bowl. Add the orange extract and food coloring; set aside.

  • In a medium sauce pan, heat the butter over low heat until melted. Increase the heat to medium and add the heavy whipping cream; whisk to combine. Cook just until the mixture begins to simmer. Do not allow it to simmer for more than a couple of seconds. Immediately remove the pan from the heat and pour the liquid over top of the white chocolate.

  • Immediately whisk until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth and creamy.

  • Cover the bowl and refrigerate until the white chocolate orange ganache is chilled and firm.

  • Scoop the chilled ganache into 12 small balls and roll between your hands until smooth. Roll each ball in powdered sugar.

  • Chill the truffles in the refrigerator until firm, or about 1 hour.
