In an in-depth feature in Future Airport magazine, Schiphol and Eindhoven Airport are put in the spotlight because of their use of the innovative Deep Turnaround technology.Jeffrey Schäfer, responsible for aircraft turnaround processes at Royal Schiphol Group, sheds light on the effectiveness of the approach: “Using data we gatherfrom Deep Turnaround, we can really pinpoint where the delay in the handling process can come from, and also look beyond what happens directly.”At Eindhoven Airport, the implementation of this technology is illustrated by the experiences of Frédérique Portheine, Manager Operational Excellence. She details the operational visibility provided by the system: “On theDeep Turnaround Dashboardwe are able to see real-time what is happening on stand during the turnarounds. With this information we can see if the turnaround planning fits reality.”Lennard Albarda,Product Owner Passenger & Airport Systemsat Eindhoven, discusses the challenges and excitement around new AI integrations: “Starting with new AI products can be exciting since the technology is complex and it's hard to understand how results are established.” He highlights the importance of thorough user training: “When implementing a solution like this, you need to guide the end users step by step and show them what new possibilities this solution can bring.”Thanks a lot for your contributions, Frédérique, Jeffrey, Lennard!More information on the website: https://lnkd.in/ePUZ6X5q#airports #technology #implementation

The combination of the need to constantly find cost and time savings, to improve the passenger experience and to reduce emissions, means the industry as a whole spends a lot of resources analyzing every aspect of its operations to find those savings where it possibly can. However, until recently, that analysis did not include the turnaround. It is difficult to see the full picture because it involves different entities performing a variety of complex tasks, providing plenty of opportunities to allow delays to creep in. The flip side is that there is also the opportunity to make gains in time and resources. #AI #Turnaround #Airport #Airline #OTP

A long long time ago, I can still remember, how that story used to make me smile. Our blog, already 4 years old, compares airport systems with package sorting systems (or bagage systems for that matter). In these systems, it's not about the individual package or suitcase, it’s about the system. That’s one of the many reasons why we believe in ground based or airport based systems over aircraft on-board systems. And yes, this is the reason why we develop follow-me vehicles that are controlled to optimize the whole airport’s surface. We built a framework to be able to understand different technologies and their relation with each other. There’s a big relation with sustainable taxiing. In fact, we believe optimal control of aircraft movements ís a part of it.Leave a comment if you don’t agree (or if you do)!Simon Prent Robbert Lohmann Dirk Bresser #aviation #innovation #logistics https://lnkd.in/ejDRSZEF

Working on a new website is something I really enjoy. What starts with an empty Word file and a brain full of ideas, ends with a nicely designed website. A website that makes visitors understand the progress the product helps to make for its users.Developing a new website brings people together from multiple disciplines, it increases collaboration, and it forces you to tell a story in very little words. It's also a crucial element in every customer journey. Also in an outbound-focused market like the one we're in, with long sales cycles. There are many stakeholders to reach and just like that informal chat at the coffee machine, you don't know who will forward the link to the website internally but you know it happens. In marketing terms it's called "Dark social' - the hard to measure actions people take. Like sending a Whatsapp message, sharing a link during a Teams meeting or simply by email.Feel free to share the website in any of those by the way!Is the website ready? Well, after I shared the website with a friend and I mentioned it's still work in progress he replied with: "Everything is work in progress, buddy."Good point. Talking about progress. Some personal learnings for the next website:1. Share a briefing document with more people, early. Everyone is willing to help and the sooner they know about it, the better. 2. Continue to push the envelope. See what's possible despite the limitations you might have. Be creative and work together. 3. Put a first version of the website online at a test-environment - early, because some things will look different compared what you had in mind.On to the next one. Feedback and suggestions welcome, below!#website #deepturnaround #schiphol
