It is a beautiful wood that we import from the east side of Borneo, Indonesia.

KAYU®-Borneo-Mahogany™ is a meranti species and is also known as Philippines Mahogany. Possesses an incredible combination of beauty and performance, strength, and durability that is superior among even the finest decking materials available, of any kind. A proven Mother Nature performer for 100+ years in the most extreme and demanding applications. Kayu International imports the species from the East Side of Borneo, Indonesia.

Its dense cell structure and interlocking grain serves as a natural deterrent to decay, insects and mold caused by humidity, and deterioration caused by snow and hot summer days. Reliable for longevity, durability and low-maintenance. Always beautiful.

A proven performer for decades in the most demanding applications with a 100% clear grade, kiln dried for consistency, smoothly finished, and always double checked by KAYU exclusive graders.

Classic yacht wood above and below the waterline. Used by Chris Craft Boats for over 100 years until they changed to fiberglass. A consistent lighter colored wood with a Density Higher than Western Red Cedar and same as Douglas Fir.

It is a delight to work with; Kayu still recommends predrilling at the ends to avoid splitting. Screw... with an Air Gun is excellent, builders are amazed at the ease. Has excellent paint holding fibers; allowing oil-based stain or paint to be applied and readily absorbed. Perhaps, best of all, is the ease and ability to refinish or even change the color.

This species is our “Go-To” species and is excellent for Decking, Flooring, Siding, Fencing, Privacy Screens, Posts, Trim Boards, Soffits, Fascia, Ceiling applications.

Our New Home: My husband has been importing Exotic Hardwoods from SE Asia for 40+ years and by the time we finished building our retirement home last year we chose Kayu®-Borneo-Mahogany™ for 90% of all our outside applications. We could have imported any species we wanted and choose the Borneo-Mahogany for all the right reasons listed above. This includes our: Decks, siding, fascia, soffits, fence, posts inside & outside, ceiling inside our main room and shower walls for 3 of our guest showers (gorgeous).

This Species is a light-colored hardwood that takes extremely well to stains/paint. You can virtually make it any color that you want.

Please keep in mind when you are looking at the pictures, the wood all started out with the same clear, light wood. We also painted part of the siding a Sage Color. After our home pictures, i will add other siding photo's for ideas.

Kayu International is in Hayden, Idaho and we and have been importing Exotic Hardwoods from SE Asia since 1994. As Importers, we normally sell to our Distributors that are Nation-Wide, who sell to Wholesale, who sell to Retail, who sell to the public.

Since Kayu does not have an Exclusive distributor in the North West, I can quote you below wholesale prices from our Hayden, Idaho Warehouse where you would pick up your order. There is no middle man.

Freight is expensive these days and much better if you can pickup your order at our warehouse. All Prices are FOB from our warehouse. I can look into getting a quote for Freight to be delivered to a freight yard near your home or business where you would pickup the material. Buyer to pay for Freight plus $125.00 to build the crate.

We can setup an appointment if you would like to visit the warehouse; however, all orders take a minimum of two working days to pull. We are Not setup like a lumber yard, we are importers of Exotic hardwood and all of our wood is kept in its original crate to avoid any damage to the wood.

All Sales are Final. Changes made after Customer agrees to the order but before picking it up, is a $25.00 restock fee.
